What Is The
52 Week Research Project
Research is one of the most important skills a person can have right now. We are surrounded by a constant stream of misinformation from all sides of the media, with new, confusing topics and conflicting perspectives floating around society and shaping our daily lives. In this environment, educating ourselves is not just valuable. It is essential. Whether it's medicine, politics, history, business, human rights, or something else entirely, my goal is to spread awareness about important topics. I want to learn how to research and engage in journalism. Along with that, I'd like to share my education with the world. I may just be one college student, but I hope I can help those around the US learn about important concepts and how to research them.
The 52 Week Research Project is something I designed to structure myself into learning and writing. Each week, I will choose a new topic from a formulated list (or suggestions!) and research it. At the end of the week, I will present my findings in either a written article or presentation. I look forward to sharing these projects on this site for my audience to spread not only awareness on the issues themselves but on the research process as well. Hopefully, at the end of the year I will have 52 completed research projects and a new perspective on the world and how to research!
